Knee Pain Causes


There are many causes of Pain Behind Knee. I will tell in here and tell the Ways to prevent them.

Pain Behind Knee is Caused by:
  • Arthritis is one of the possible explanations for knee pain, a condition which appears when the joint gets inflamed. You will find that there is medication available which can be used to treat it, medication which can be obtained by visiting a doctor, which can confirm the problem.
  • Injuries to the ligaments that are found in the knee; this type of injury typically occurs during sporting or athletic activity and causes both instability in the knee and discomfort.
  • Injuries and tears to the cartilage in the knee; in both young patients and older patients, cartilage injuries commonly cause knee pain. Torn cartilage can also be a wear and tear injury from years of usage and is also common in obese or overweight patients.
  • Patellar tendonitis is a common cause of knee pain, and affects the patellar tendon, which is the large tendon that is located over the front of the knee.
  • Chondromalacia patella is a caused by softening of the cartilage and is characterized as knee pain that radiates from underneath the kneecap. This type of knee pain is more common in individuals between the ages of fifteen and thirty-five.
  • Dislocated kneecap can cause obvious pain during the dislocation itself, but can also lead to a more chronic type of knee pain as well. Baker’s cysts can cause knee pain, but usually as a result of a meniscus tear; this type of knee pain is typically accompanied by swelling in the back of the joint.
  • Bursitis affects the joint above the knee cap, and is a common knee pain complaint in those who kneel when working, such as carpenters, construction workers, landscapers and gardeners.
  • Gout can cause knee pain, but it is more uncommon than any of the above causes.


Main Causes of pain behind knee:
Most common causes for pain behind knee can be from exercising and not stretching the muscles so well, not warming up before you exercise or play sports that depend on knee move, continuous exercising without taking a break or resting.The pain behind the knee will be gone after taking these common precautions, just come down and rest your knee and put something cold on it.If it still Hurts after even taking these precautions thin it will be more hurting than before and it's most likely because of one of these things:
  1. Superficial cuts or bruises.
  2. Straining/Spraining resulting from unnatural twisting or extension.
  3. Knee cap trauma or dislocation.
  4. Small breaks though the knee joint (extrement cases).
  5. Straining or tearing of the ligaments in the knee (acl injury).
  6. Damaged cartilage within the knee.
  7. Tendinitis within the knee.
  8. Arthritis.

Things you have to do to avoid these situations:
These are some easy steps to do to avoid getting your knee hurt or injured so you won't feel the pain from it at all.
Here they are
  1. Before making exercises your should warn up well, and after exercising you should rest and cool your knee.
  2. Learn the correct forms of body to walk and run without affecting your knee.
  3. Wear the suitable outfits.For example, if it's cold, you should wear tight clothes to keep your knee warm.
  4. For some sports, there are some suitable outfits for them, you should wear to every sport its suitable outfits.

There are some situations that require you to go to doctor, these situations are when you feel great pain in your knee and not sure what is the cause of it, or you don't know what treatment you should take to recover from the pain behind your knee.
